The symbolic meaning of the infection is announced from the very beginning through footage and words to be 'rage', and the violence induced by it henceforward becomes the centre of the film's criticism. But what adds to the film's complexity is the fact that the protagonist is empowered only by rage to fight for those he loves and defeat the purposeless soldiers, who by contrast fight for nothing but themselves. 疫情之后我从没觉得皮克斯不行，然而这次是肉眼可见拿不出货了，保守程度甚至比迪士尼本部还严重。戏剧矛盾等于没有，媒介和材质也谈不上有什么新探索，最过分的是世界观构建十分敷衍。水火之外的木和云都是跑龙套，刻画的场景几乎只有商店、市政厅和体育场，我完全感受不到新世界和新秩序。毫无乐趣。
